Our Initiatives
Health & Wellness
Timberwolf Classic: The TCMS PTA proudly sponsors the annual Timberwolf Classic Track and Field Event, a gathering that unites middle school athletes from across the state to compete and celebrate their love for running. To ensure inclusivity, TCMS sponsors students and groups who may not have the financial means to participate. The event has seen remarkable growth over the past two years, and we are looking for a committee lead. If you would like to volunteer, please contact: tcmspta@gmail.com
Empowering Students and Teachers
-
Teacher Appreciation: The PTA is committed to celebrating and supporting our teachers throughout the entire school year with various initiatives to boost morale and recognize their hard work. Starting in August, we provide meals during Teacher Work Week to ensure our teachers feel welcomed and appreciated as they prepare for the new academic year. In May, during Teacher Appreciation Week, we offer breakfast or lunch each day to show our gratitude for their hard work and dedication. Additionally, we host the annual "Cookie Exchange" in December, where our generous community donates baked goods for our teachers to enjoy, fostering a sense of community and holiday spirit. In January, we organize the "Soup'er Bowl," providing a warm and hearty meal during the colder months.
-
NJHS: The PTA proudly sponsors the NJHS Induction Celebration by providing refreshments, cake, and cupcakes to honor the new inductees and their achievements.
-
Funding: The PTA funds teacher conferences and seminars throughout the year, providing essential support for professional development and continuous learning.
Advocacy
-
Red Ribbon Week is a drug awareness program at TCMS, where students pledge to live drug-free lives. By taking the pledge, students commit to staying drug-free and supporting their peers in doing the same, fostering a safe and supportive school environment.
-
Pink Out Week: Throughout the week, students are encouraged to show their support by wearing pink attire. T-shirts are also sold as part of fundraising efforts aimed at supporting members of our community affected by breast cancer. It's a time filled with enthusiasm and solidarity as our school comes together to make a meaningful difference.
-
Denim Drive: An annual event where CCPS schools compete to collect denim clothing for Goodwill. This friendly competition encourages students, staff, and the community to donate gently used denim items, which Goodwill then repurposes to support their charitable initiatives. TCMS has proudly placed first in the competition for the past three years, and we're excited to rally together once again to make it four in a row! Join us in making a difference through generosity and community spirit.
Family Engagement
-
Grade Level Events: The TCMS PTA sponsors the 6th Grade Glow Dance, 7th Grade Jump Night, 8th Grade Red Carpet Dance, and the 8th Grade Fun Day. These events held throughout the year engage our students to build friendships and memories. *No student is financially excluded; PTA will provide access to events for students who need assistance.
-
Spirit Nights: The TCMS PTA teams up with local businesses to show support while raising funds that go towards our school.
-
PTA Meetings:
Our aim is to transform the TCMS PTA into a welcoming and inclusive organization where all members feel valued. This year, we are dedicated to increasing our monthly meeting attendance by shifting to a format that focuses on both sharing information and seeking input. Look for guest speakers at our gatherings who will discuss relevant topics affecting families with middle school students.
